Before SkuVault's inception, several of SkuVault's driving members, including CEO Andy Eastes and CTO Slav Ivanyuk, worked in eCommerce, specializing in shoes and apparel. After much consternation over trying to find the right warehouse management system for their company, they decided to build one themselves. It wasn't web-based, and it was geared toward shoes and apparel, but even so, several of their eCommerce friends became interested in the system and purchased it for their own warehouses. They had to make a decision - continue with this eCommerce company, or go in the direction of inventory and warehouse management, where there was a clear demand for a mid-tiered system. They took a step back, rebuilt the system on Microsoft's Cloud, removed the apparel focus and broadened the features to include support for things like product kitting and daily deals, and went full steam ahead with SkuVault in 2011.

SkuVault is hand-coded here in Louisville, KY, home of the Kentucky Derby. When we first began as a startup in 2011, we were as lean as it gets - tiny office, minimal staff, grueling hours - now, we're an expansive, passionate app company with over 20 employees, using the latest coding languages and technologies toward improving our award winning warehouse management app, with hundreds of clients across 4 continents and 86 cities - now that's what I'm talking about. We're growing, which is crazy-exciting, but we're trying to keep it cool by sticking to our core values.

We're a software company, but we like to think we're kind of a unique one. We've been that desperate seller, rolling in out of stocks, looking for a solution, and we think that gives us an interesting perspective. We do the webinars, the emails, the newsletters, the social channels, but whenever we can, we like to meet up with our clients face to face, and talk about their warehouse and needs specifically, to see if we're really the best fit for them.
